Overview
InMotion, a relatively new California web page hosting provider, founded in Year
2001 is one of a few web hosting companies that is fully owned and operated
by the employees of the company. Their staffs has average over 4 years of experience and
some senior staffs have over 10 years of hosting experience. Since it is their own
business and as a member of Better Business Bureau (BBB), you can
expect good level of customer and technical support.
Key Hosting Features
The basic hosting plan, Launch, provided by InMotion is an entry
level web hosting plan designed for small business websites. Therefore, you
can expect almost all the basic hosting features that you'll be required
(please refer the detail InMotion hosting features on the left column).
Basically, it offers a very attractive hosting package of 300 GB of disk space and
3,000 GB of bandwidth, which is more than sufficient for most of the websites. However, the
basic Launch Plan does not support e-Commerce features, domain features and raw log
files. Unless you need these features, otherwise, InMotion's Launch Plan
should be able to fulfill most of all your hosting needs.
Customer Support
InMotion provides 24/7 email support desk. While their toll free phone
support 888-321-4678 only available from Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to
10:00 PM EST. The support forum provided by InMotion is an extremely useful
forum that cover various topics from website setup, website design to
website promotions. It is also a good place for you to ask your pre-sale
questions if you have. Moreover, it is a good way to see if you can get a
fast response from their support staffs too!
Data Center
InMotion uses Dell PowerEdge servers running on Redhat or FreeBSD operating
systems. They also use SUN Microsystems machines in some cases. All servers
are backboned under BGP4 network with fault tolerant IP routing to ensure
all websites stays up all the time.

Summary
InMotion is a relatively young and small company with small customers based
(only 3,000). InMotion web hosting features are certainly not the best in
the market and can be considered in the 'middle of the road' when compared
to other web hosting providers in our review. Perhaps due to the small
customer based, InMotion hosting is reputable for their friendly technical
support and fast email response. We tested them with few email queries and
they proved to meet that claim.
