business. Founded in Year 1997, Jumpline is an well established and
experience web hosting providers in the market. While it is considered an
established web hosting company, their customer-based of 20,000 is not
considered huge relatively. Jumpline utilizing an unique Sphera's Virtucal Dedicated
Server technology (VDS) as the basis for their web hosting platform. The
VDS technology is considered to be more secure than the web hosting
solution available on the market today.
Key Hosting Features
Jumpline basic hosting plan, J1 VDS, features only 1 GB of disk
space and 10 GB bandwidth. It is almost 10 times less than the offer by other
web hosting providers in our review. Not to mention the hosting plan also
is not e-commerce ready and does not support MySQL features and domain
features. However, one major advantage of Jumpline is that they allows you
to host up to 13 other websites per account. This will save you money if you
have many websites. Moreover, Jumpline utilizes a customized control panel
called VDS that has an easy to use navigation system and good visual
appearance compared to other control panels.
Customer Support
Jumpline provides 24/7 email technical support. But their toll free phone
support 1-800-651-2028 only available from Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to
9:00 PM EST. Their email response to our query was satisfactory where we
received the response within an hour.
Data Center
Jumpline data center is located in Qwest's $63 million facility located
minutes away from their headquarters. They use the popular Dell PowerEdge
servers with Intel Pentium processors. The data center connectivity boasts
a 4 OC-48 to form a OC-192 capacity with 4 levels of redundancy. Their
network is built upon Cisco networking equipment - routers, firewalls and
switches with failovers capabilities to achieve maximum up-time. In
summary, the performance of their data center is on par with many top web
hosting providers in the market.

Summary
In comparison, Jumpline's J1 VDS plan is the most expensive among the
web hosting providers in our review. For 1 GB disk space and 10 GB
bandwidth at $10.95 per month, their hosting package still seems to priced
back in the year of 1997 when they just started. Nevertheless, Jumpline allows you
to host up to 13 websites per account. This will cut down your cost if you plan to
host multiple domains with Jumpline. In addition, the reliability of their server
performance is probably worth the premium price that you pay.
